Permadelta is the strategic studio of Michele Berkhout. It is built on the belief that while technology and data provide the tools, transformation is always a human endeavour, driven by those who lead with context and clarity.
My approach is rooted in a career spent at the intersection of technology and human systems. This perspective was forged early on in Zimbabwe, a place that taught me the fundamental value of resilience and reinvention. Today, whether I am managing remote digital infrastructure through Eastlea or advising boards on AI governance, I look for the "Delta": the point where intentional change creates meaningful progress.

A technology backbone
I co-founded Eastlea with my husband as a small-scale side venture, inspired by our early years in Zimbabwe, a place that taught us the value of resilience, reinvention and connection. While Eastlea is not a full-time operation, it continues to support selected projects in remote communications and digital infrastructure, particularly in challenging regional environments. Foundational digital infrastructure enables the digital transformation work I now pursue more actively through Permadelta, where every shift is seen as an opportunity for strategic, adaptive thinking that designs better responses to change and where every change holds the potential for meaningful progress.
